What is the button to the left of the arrow keys? It seems to act like the enter key, does it have some other purpose?

It's got an icon like this:
_
^

Thanks,

Mike

Sounds like you're describing the "eject" button, which is on the F12 button on my PowerBook G4.

You mean ?

It's the Enter key. Not to be confused with the Return key.()

You must not be using a US keyboard.

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah, I'm using a UK keyboard. What's the difference between the Enter and return keys? They seem to only be different on Apple keyboards...

Thanks,

Mike

"Return" goes back to the typewriter days for a carriage return to start a new line. "Enter" is to execute a command or input. Beyond the words, I don't know any functional difference in modern computers, but there must be something, otherwise they wouldn't name them differently. Whatever it is, it must some subtle difference, like "delete" and "backspace".
