I've heard something about iPods not working very well through USB on Windows machines to transfer files, is this true? Also is it bad to transfer files with it, does it wear the HD out faster? Or is it negligible.

first of all, HD's don't wear out. They burn out if they get EXTREMELY HOT! (very rare.) :) iPod's USB connection to windows works perfectly fine. What i like is that the iPod is plug-and-play in any windows XP machine or any windows 2k machine with iTunes. Also, if you format your iPod for windows, it will work on mac's too and not screw anything up. Then, you can still use it on windows.
