is there a way to change the default media player from quicktime?

quicktime sucks. :/ any ideas?

Right click on a media file, for example a .mov file. Bring up the info pane, and chose which application you like to open the file with, and then chose "Use this application to open all documents like this"

Repeat this for all those files you want to have your app of choice open.
