So I backed up all of my important files and did an erase and install of leopard. I love the new UI - and spaces is awesome - but i'm having trouble getting some programs to install. I need some advice.

Tiger came with my macbook. does the original install dvd offer those three install methods? What i wanna do is archive and install back to Tiger, install all of the apps (I heard that it was just the installer that fails in 10.5, I've heard success stories), then archive and install 10.5 again.

one other thing... VMware Fusion seems to make os x 10.5 quit unexpectedly :(

Ok, so VMWare released a beta for leopard.

I guess I will go home today and do the reinstall thing and let you guys know how it goes.

so... I did a time machine backup on an external drive. if i erase my macbook now, can i just grab the contents of that backup (say my app disk images, documents folder and music folder) and drag it into the "new" Tiger system?

So, yeah, it worked. And all of the apps work great.

For anyone who might read this.
