Firefox & Thunderbird acting up?

I just got Shapeshifter today & after experimenting with themes & icons I found one I liked. After restarting my Mac I clicked on Firefox & got an error msg and then I sent it to Apple. Closed it, re-opened, got the msg again. Opened Thunderbird got the same thing. Unless I press TRY AGAIN it won't open. How come?
