Apple is fun. What's the point of having the same boring icons all over. Always good to have a few laughs here and there. That's why Jobs' keynotes are so amazing cause of how he ridicules a lot of other things. If it was just some boring introduction of products, who would watch it?

Yeah saw that one and was pretty sure what they were up to. If you think Microsoft does not take pot shots, don't be deceived. They do. I have an interview with Gates somewhere that bashes Mac OS and Apple into the ground. The pot shots come from both camps if you know where to look. I got that Windows ad in Email from Microsoft just before Leopard was released. The very day in fact.

It's not excusable, but if MS does take any shots, it's probably only in response to, and not nearly as much, as Apple. Maybe the interview with Gates was on that very subject. If that's what they're discussing, it's not like the ad pot shots.
As far as that ad with the 6:00 pm thing, it seems wasted since 99.5% of people who see it will never get the joke and just think it means that they can spend time with family after work instead of dealing with computer related work/issues.
These pot shots Apple takes at MS is only exacerbated by the fact that they received financial help from MS 10 years ago, Jobs praised MS and said to everyone that this kind of back and forth between the 2 companies was history.
In thee end, Apple is just so darn good that it isn't even necessary!

Agreed. Some though do make me laugh, but it's not needed to sell OSX. To me it sells itself without any hype. All I had to do was use it for 5 minutes and I was hooked. No ads, no Jobs Cool Aid!
