2 GHz Black Intel Core Duo Macbook, 2 GB Ram, 100 GB HD, 60 GB black iPod Video, 8 GB iPhone
I upgraded my CD Macbook 2.0Ghz to 2 gb of Ram and then did a clean install of Leopard and now it takes at least 3 times as long to start up as it did with tiger and with half the ram. Is anyone else noticing this?

I have 2gb ram on mini core-duo 1.66. Everythnig is fine. Not slow here.

Yes, my iMac does cycle slower than it used to. On Tiger, if I did a restart, 45 seconds and I'm fully back up.

Leopard: 40 seconds to black screen, 1:10 seconds fully back up.

So, 'bout twice as long as before. I do start out with more free memory than in Tiger.

BUT, compared to Winblows????:D :D :D :D :D

Slow Boot Time and a Little Sluggish

Yeah ... what thu ! I "upgraded" on Friday night MBP 15" 2.33ghz/2gb/120gb the Dock etc seem fine but boot-up is also 3 times longer, and the Hardrive/fans are working a good minute or so after the desktop comes up reminds me of my old windows machine, iphoto hung on its first start and finder crashed once while spotlight was indexing overall doesn’t seem as robust as tiger for me :( is the consensus to do a fresh install ???

Yep..

Did clean install on my MacBook Pro 2.16Ghz/1Gb/120 etc.

On 10.4 crank wheel would go from 8-14 times and total startup would be from 28-40 seconds.

On 10.5 crank wheel goes about 25-30 times, I havent timed the total startup yet but it is noticeably longer.

Hopefully it speeds up after a while though. Still very happy, as a previous poster said still better than WinBlows lol.

Liking Leopard so far, a very easy transition.

21 seconds to Login screen - same as was in Tiger
33 seconds with Auto Login - was 28 in Tiger

The funny thing about this is on my Core Duo Mini 1.66Ghz still with STOCK 512Megs RAM it's within maybe 1-2 seconds of when 10.4.10 was installed. I did a Baggss(tm) Archive and Install. It's quite fast even with that low amount of RAM. Time to upgrade to 2GB though for running a lot of apps at the same time.

The very first boot was longer of course as it's setting things up and playing the intro video and Indexing the drive. Every boot since then is very fast. 30 seconds to the desktop. 5 seconds to totally shut down.
