So, I have been a PC user for awhile, but have decided to switch to a Mac. Partly because I have enjoyed my experiences with using friends' Macs, and also because I am bored and would like to try something that is different for me.

I was waiting until the release of Leopard before making my purchase, but now I hear talk around of there potentially being an update to the Macbook soon and that the current Macbook is currently at the end of its product life cycle.
I know I cannot get any definite answer, but I would like some opinions on whether this is a good time to buy.

I don't mind waiting a few weeks to finally buy, as I can make due with my current laptop for at least a little while longer. But I just know if I buy now and a week or two down the road there is an update I will be less satisfied with my purchase. Then again, if I have to wait till around the time of Macworld than I would prefer to buy now.

Thanks in advance for any help. I just don't want to potentially regret a relatively big purchase a few weeks down the road.

No ones knows when Apple is going to update their computers except for them. Rumors are exactly that, Rumors. If we followed rumors, we would have had the iPhone 2 years ago. Buy the new computer when you need a new computer. It will still work when Apple decides to update them.
