I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I could not find it anywhere. Is it possible, hypothetically speaking, to actually use a HD partition as your backup HD? Say, for instance, you had a hard drive much bigger than you needed....could it be done?

I am not sure if Time Machine will do that or not but my reason for being against it is, if the hard drive dies, there goes the backup. Someone else with Leopard can probably answer the if it will work part.

That's a good point, and why I am saving up for an external HD. I was just curious about the possibility, perhaps for the possibility of idiot-proofing your computer against other users.
