i just have some simple questions...if anybody could help me out tht would be great

1.) how do i do a mirror image/flip a picture when i click on an image thumbnail to preview it? i am able to rotate a picture but not flip it...

2.) is there a way i can "browse" all the pictures in one folder on my desktop instead of clicking on each one, one by one. ( i do not want to run a program lke iphoto to do simple browsing) any alternatives?

3.) what are some good simple photo editing softwares that are free to download? all i would like to do is maybe piece two images side by side into one jpg. or maybe be able to draw lines/diagrams on pictures.

thanks!

For (2) get xee. It is an excellent viewer that allows you to open any one image in a folder of images and then go backward or forward as you wish. There is a surprisingly small number of viewers that support this function.

Get xee at: http://wakaba.c3.cx/s/apps/xee.html

BTW, xee is freeware, which makes it even better.

For (3), here is a run down of image editing programs available. There may be more, this is just the list I maintain. Some of them are free, some of them (such as Photoshop) definitely are not!

Photoshop Elements
Photoshop CS2

GraphicConverter (http://www.lemkesoft.com/xd/public/c...lkPTE5Mw_.html)

GIMP (www.gimp.org)

ImageWell (http://xtralean.com/IWOverview.html)
ChocoFlop (http://www.chocoflop.com)
PhotoComplete (www.funkypixels.com)
Seashore (http://seashore.sourceforge.net)

LiveQuartz (http://www.rhapsoft.com)

...and of course...

iPhoto (which has quite a nice set of editing tools)

ChocoFlop is well worth a detailed. Quite a nice program.
