Do I need a PRAM reset?

Macbook Pro 2.2 Ghz/ 2GB RAM / 120 GB HDD
I recently added 2 GB of RAM to my Macbook Pro (took out the 2 X 1 GB and added 2 X 2GB). The laptop recognizes the 4 GB (I see it in 'About this Mac'), but do I need to do a PRAM reset anyway?

If it sees the RAM, why would you need to do that?
