ok...
I just received my leopard pre-order, and was eager to get it installed
one of the new ""features"" that I was looking forward to was the live partitioning/partition resizing in disk utility
I booted up the leopard install DVD and opened up disk utility
I wanted to make a fat32 shared partition to share my docs between mac and windows (I have windows installed via bootcamp)
I dragged the slider to reduce the space of my mac partition (i did not touch the windows partition) and clicked the "+" button to add another partition...cool.
I set the new partition to be fat32 and click the apply button at the bottom of disk utility
it told my that my mac partition and my new shared partition would be modified and said that the windows partition would be kept the same
after it was done, I realized that graphical display of the partitions was a little odd...
my mac partiton and my new shared partition were tiny bars at the top... and windows was taking up most of the space - i checked all the sizes and it looked ok (i thought it may just be a glitch)
i restarted into windows to see if it was ok...
the windows loading screen came up (with the progress bar at the bottom) and after a few seconds of "loading" -- the screen went black and the computer restarted
I booted back into osx 10.4 (which worked) and 'examined' my windows partition and saw that everything was still there
I going to go ahead and install leopard anyway
if anyone may have any idea on how to 'repair' my windows partition please reply -- btw: it is XP that I have
Sorry for the long post -- Thanks!!
EDIT: I attached some pics to show the weird things DiskUtil is doing
