And it still doesn't work. Am I going to have to erase my hard drive and start over fresh?

Read that URL I posted and try that and see if it works for you. Better than installing again.

If that does not fix it, go back to the installer and right after you choose the hard drive click options and do an Archive and Install. That should fix it and you will loose nothing of your files nor applications.

It says the root device is mounted read-only. It won't let me change anything. If I do the archive and install, will I get the space back that the first failed install used up?

~Thanks

I don't really have any crucial documents, but I have an extensive iTunes library, including my podcasts. Is there any way to get the files off of my HD and then do a clean install? If I do a clean sweep, can I import the files back onto my hard drive FROM my iPod?

Does that work with Leopard? If so, I think I'll do a clean install.

Glad it helped. It's helped others who are stuck at the Blue Screen.

Ok, well, the good news is that I am now typing to you on my MBP running Leopard. I used the archive and install method. The bad news is that is used up a ton of HD space. Because I did install 3 times total (trying to get it to work), it used up 28 GB! Why did it use up so much space (6 + 11 + 11)? How can I clear it up? I'm assuming that it installed the files 3 times each.

Look for a folder called Previous System or something like that. Been so long since I did an A&I I forget the exact name. Be sure everything is running fine and you can delete that folder later on.

Can anyone tell me where this folder is on my system? I have tested all my apps and everything is running well. I just can't find that folder and I'd like to have my HD space back. :)

~Thanks

I found it. LOL. For anyone else that is interested in doing this, it can be found at /Previous Systems. I don't know why I couldn't find that. I guess they say that the best place to hide something is sometimes right out in the open.

I had no problems with the upgrade. However, I was not given the option of the type of install i.e. archive. Did I miss something during the install? Ditto on the "is there an archive from Tiger that I can now delete to regain hard drive space?"

Thanks.

Right after you select which Hard Drive to install to, the very next screen has an Options button. You click that and choose from Upgrade, Archive and Install and Erase and Install.

If you did not use Archive and Install there should be no archive of Tiger.
