• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I've got a photo with DVD credits that I want to display as a menu background. iDVD6 tells you to size your photos for NTSC 4:3 at 720 x 540 pixels. However, when I drop it onto the menu, it automatically enlarges the image so that there's only partial view of the image. The only adjustment that can be made is vertically. I've even tried shrinking the image with text and mounting it on a matte so that it appears in the TV safe viewing area, but no luck there. Same thing happens. Any ideas? If someone want to mess around with image, let me know and i'll email it to you. Thanks. -nate

This sounds familiar. If I remember correctly; I edited the image so that it had boarders around it making the final size larger. I used GraphicConverter. It took several tries to find the right adjustment and I didn't have text to worry about. Certainly this would be considered a hack of a solution.

I'm wondering if this might have something to do with resolution; eg. 72dpi vs 96dpi, etc.

I just tried this in iDVD 08 and couldn't reproduce the problem. That isn't to say it is fixed.
