So it's being released on Friday the 26th. According to the Apple countdown, at 6:00pm. But the shops close at 5:00pm. What's going on there? Will it be available as soon as the shop opens on the 26th or what? =\

There seems to be a lot of hype around OS releases in America - people have been talking about going just for the sake of it, and scoring a bunch of free stuff like t-shirts and mousepads etc, because it's a massive event. Will it be like this in Australia? If so, I want to go check it out but I can't imagine it would be such a big thing...

During that period the store is closed. All of the current systems OSs are upgraded and the store is set up for the release of the new OS.

Ah so the Aussies get it at 6pm on the 26th too... a whole 10 hours before we do, and 15 hours before the Americans...

I'm kinda jealous, but extremely happy we're gonna get something earlier than the Americans for a change :)

I pre-ordered online (was going to wait 'till the MacLive Expo on Saturday, but why?!), I just hope it does come on the 26th, otherwise I'll be waiting even longer.

So they're going to reopen the shop at 6? While every other retail shop in Australia is closed until the next day? =\

Don't know about Australia, that is what they do in the states.
