Connecting Mitel ip phone to Airport Extreme

iMac 20" 2.16Ghz Intel Duo Core 2
I have just bought the airport extreme, which works perfectly with my imac, BUT when I hard wire my ip phone into the ethernet port the phone doesn't work. I tried plugging the phone directly to the modem and it works. can someone please tell me how to set the phone up through the Airport Extreme.

I think their may be a configuration in your IP Phone and to your ethernet port.... to make it work...
