Is this the correct ram to purchase?

I own a 17 inch white C2D imac. And it has 2 x 512 MB sticks of memory in it now. And I want to ask are these the right ram sticks to get to upgrade to 2 GB of ram.

Why I ask is cause their description is good apart from one little thing. Mactracker says it has to be PC2-5300. And on the site it says it is PC5300. Would that make a difference?

Should work fine, the PC2 just means that it is DDR2. I've seen it labeled both ways. Just one thing to keep in mind, I know the new iMacs use laptop RAM instead of desktop RAM, I don't know if that is true for the older white iMacs or not. I would ask some one if you need 200pin DDR2(laptop) or 240pin DDR2(desktop). Good luck!

I know I need the 200 pin ram. Mactracker says so. The G5's used the 240 pin ram but all the intel imacs moved over to the 200 pin variety.

The first link doesn't have a photo. The second link has a photo and it looks like desktop RAM which won't work in the iMac.

Well I didn't end up buying the ram online. I thought there was not information there for my needs. So I went to their store in Milton Queensland. And bought the ram there. I got 2 x 1 GB Kingston Ram for my imac. Sure they are a PC store mainly but they had the ram.

The ram cost me $95 Australian per 1 GB stick of ram. I thought that was a great price and is the cheapest I have found around Australia for the Kingston.

I am using the ram now. And I'm amazed at how snappy my imac is now with the 2 GB. The startup, opening up apps, and the general feeling of the machine is just like wow. I say getting the 2 GB was a great investment. Well worth the now quite cheap price.

Thanks for your advice. Everyone who posted here. I just wanted to tell you all how it went. And for other Aussies interested in ram I'd say either go instore or email them about the details of anything you want to buy there as there really isn't enough info on their website to make an informed purchase. But apart from that I'd recommend them.
