Is this even possible to do? Im sure it must be but i have no idea where i would even start.

You'd need to get a TV tuner for your MacBook.

Yes, but if you will at any time want the ability to view and/or record HD over-the-air content with your EyeTV device - you will want to go the route of the Hybrid or the 250 Pro. The standard 250 is analog only and the analog broadcast signals are now set to disappear in early 2009. For connecting your other devices like the xbox, they are all still via s-video or composite cable only.

The Hybrid will use your processor for the encoding process while the 250 (regular or Pro) has it's own hardware encoder to take the bulk of the work off your processor.

What about buying a dvd burner for your tv (~$100) and recording onto dvd then dumping it to your mac?

Just a thought...

Well thinking about further, you wouldn't get hi-def, so I'm not sure if that matters to you or not. But I imagine you could take the output from your xbox to the dvd burner then the dvd burner to the tv. It would go between the two systems. Does the 360 have hi-def output as well as normal resolution output? If so, you could bounce between the two depending on whether you want to record or not.

Im not sure if it had Hi-def to be honest, mine is one of the older (pre HDMI) premium consoles. I think im using composite cables.

I think im leaning more towards EyeTV than a DVD recorder mainly just for convenience.

While on the subject is there anything like the EyeTV for windows that i could use on my older laptop?

Thanks for all your help so far.

Oh you said 360 so I assumed you were doing hi-def...
