So I went and bought the new ipod nano not realizing that it needs at least Mac OS 10.4 to run it and I am currently running a iBook G4 10.3.9. I want a new mp3 player but I guess my system is too outdated for the generation of iPod. Any ideas or suggestions on what I should get that is mac compatible? Thanks in advance for your help.

I would suggest going to some online store and buying a 5th gen ipod. iPod "Video"s are one of the best iPods I think and all you need is OS 10.3 :)

I was hoping to buy a small iPod like the nano. Do they still make nano's that run on 10.3? Also, what about if I bump up my system to 10.4? I think I have the bare necessities to run 10.4 Has anyone installed 10.4 on a iBook G4. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.

I had Tiger on my iBook G4. What are the specs on yours?

If you can, I'd upgrade your RAM, and you'll be able to run Tiger.
