Engraving on an iPhone

Does get a name engraved on an iPhone void the warranty? Can you do it through Apple if you have already purchased it? I am getting it for a friend's wedding present and don't want to mess with the warranty. I searched the site, but couldn't find anything. TIA!

I would highly recommend calling Apple support and getting one of their employees to tell you that. That way if there is any disagreement down the line, you can reference that person in proving they said it won't be a problem.

If I ever do something that may be an issue later, I get someone's approval first, then write down their name, the date of the conversation and exactly what they said. If possible, record the conversation, but that's going a little far.
