When is the last time that Apple called their computers "Macintosh"? It seems to be just "Mac" now.

12" Apple PowerBook G4 (1.5GHz)
Seems to be around 1998, when the iMac was released. That's just my guess, though.

That's when it started. The Apple iMac was the first Mac that didn't have "Macintosh" in the name.

Next came the Apple iBook (the first Mac that didn't have "Mac" in the name.)

Then the Apple Power Macintosh G3 (beige) was replaced with the Apple Power Mac G3 (blue-and-white.)

Then the Apple Macintosh PowerBook became the Apple PowerBook. For some strange reason, the fact that "Apple PowerBook" did not include "Mac" was later used as an excuse to replace the PowerBook name with "MacBook Pro."

Other factoids: Macintosh Server G4 was the absolute last hardware product with "Macintosh" in the name. But new Macs still come with "Macintosh HD" as the default internal hard disk name.

The local university's website say's that the graphic design program's computer lab is stocked with the newest macintosh computers. Does that mean that they're all from the 90's?

Oh that's funny...
