When I turn on my Macbook, my bluetooth icon does not show up on my menu bar. I go into my system preferences and see that the box is checked for "Show Bluetooth Icon". In order for it to show up on the menu bar I have to check off and re-check the box for "Show Bluetooth Icon". I just want to turn o my macbook and see my bluetooth in the menubar.

Bluetooth Icon

I have exactly the same problem on my iMac 2,8 GHz! Does anybody know already how to solve this issue?

Mine is there all the time, but from time to time the icon is greyed out and says that bluetooth is not enabled, other times bluetooth works fine. Anyone know a cure to have bluetooth always enabled?

Mine goes away periodically. I usually notice it about a day after it does. I just go back into System Prefs for bluetooth and uncheck/re-check the 'Display in Menu Bar' and it comes back until the next time it disappears.

It's not just the bluetooth icon, I've had the International thing (the flag of whatever country you tell it you're in) go away as well. That one I notice whenever I forget the option-key combo and need to go into Character Pallette and go "hey, where's my flag?"

Same thing.
