Your Mac's Specs
iMac Intel Core Duo 20"
I have an Imac 20" Intel core Duo with 10.4.10 Tiger running it. My problem is that sometime when I right click on a file the thing start spinning then my folders and icon on my desktop disappears for about 10 secs or so and they then come back. This is bugging me to death. Has this happened to anyone and is there a cure. Hope someone has a cure.

Is this apparent for any particular type of file or is it random?

I'll put the obvious stuff aside:
You've already repaired disk permissions/Repair Disk in Disk Utility
