Install OS 10.4 G4 On iMac G5???

I am currently running OS 10.3.9 on an iMac G5. I acquired a Power Mac G4 10.4 Software Install and Restore disc. Will this work on my computer?

All things aside about the incompatability of the architecture between a G4 and a G5, what you're trying to do essentially requires either the exact Software Install & Restore discs that were issued with the computer in question or the Full Retail Version of the software which typically has a large 8, 9, or X on the label ... any grey discs are model specific only.

Thanks, that's what I figured. This is a grey disc. How can I tell what specific machine it is for?

As for what you got, apart from a Power Mac G4, it's hard to know for which specific model it is.
