Quicksilver Processor Switch?

Can I replace my Power Mac 733MHz "Quicksilver" processor with that of an 867MHz processor from another Quicksilver and not have any probs?

I've contacted Apple directly twice with this question - have not gotten an answer.

I want to swap the procs because my 733 has other parts in it that the 867 doesn't and I don't want to start moving parts from case to case, just the procs if possible.

Thanks!

shouldn't be a problem, both are from the same series and have the same motherboard architecture

Are the heatsinks different? If yes, than take the heatsink along.

It's done!

I'm posting on my primary Quicksilver with the processor swapped to 867MHz. :)

I'm gonna power up the other QS to make sure it's running fine.

The swap wasn't too bad after I got the clips undone for the heatsinks. That was the only kicker!!!
