Hello

Does anyone know the best avi to mpeg4 converter for my ipod. I currently have mpeg streamclip , handbrake , quicktime etc.. I have been converting with mpeg streamclip at highest quality but still is grainy when hooked up to tv etc.. My friend coverts with a windows program called videora and quality is alot better than mine.

Any suggestions would be great

Thank You!!!

I use iSquint to convert videos to mp4's, but haven't yet connected my ipod to my tv. There is a option with iSquint to optimize for ipod or tv, so the video shouldn't look to bad.

I use visualhub. I tried isquint but I preferred the options and ease of use of Visual hub. However, it does cost $25. I found it to be worth it.

Does everyone's take 10-15 hours to convert? My wife converted a movie for a class she is taking (60 minutes long) on her MBP through the night and it ran from 11pm last night until about 1pm today. It's a brand new MBP and she used handbrake and isquint to convert. iTunes was taking twice as long so we stopped it...

I converted Crank before my holiday in August.

Handbrake took maybe 2 hours to convert to avi, and iSquint took another couple i think.

Used default avi settings for Handbrake. For iSquint it was optimized for tv with H.264 encoding on high quality.

Was that an AVI movie?

Shouldn't take that long. My Mac pro will do a 2 hour film avi -> mp4 in about 15 minutes with Isquint.

Handbrake takes about 20 - 30 minutes to do the same.

Itunes is much slower usually. As you say, about double the time.

Something's up . . .
