There should be a way to listen to an ipod you are connected with through your computer speakers. This isn't possible, right?

For example, I bring my ipod to work, I plug it into my work computer (it's a new iMac 20"). It would be nice if I could listen to the MP3's through itunes that are on the ipod/iphone without being able to copy them or whatever. I mean this shouldn't be tough considering all those iPod radios do the exact same thing basically.

When you connect the iPod, select the option to 'manage music manually'.

You will then be able to play music from the iPod without copying it to the iMac.
