I got 2 1gb sticks for my Macbook today and I stepped into a world of difference. I dont flinch if my little guy is pushing 6200 rpm exhaust and 70% cpu usage, because my computer doesn't slow down when that happens anymore, he just chugs along. I had never had more than 1.5gb RAM in any of my computers before now. It is so freaking sweet.

I bought my MacBook with 2 GB of RAM. It's currently the fastest computer in my house.

Yeah..When I decided to get my MacBook I went ahead and got 2gb right off the bat. Wouldn't ever want to use anything lower from now on.

It does make a big difference, especially if you run anything like Parallels, or any Rosetta app like MS Office 2004. My wife as 1gig and I have 2 gigs on comparable MacBooks, and I see hers chug every now and again, whereas mine never does. When I upgrade her to Leopard, I'll upgrade the RAM too.

I'll probably get a set of two 1GB sticks come November... waiting for a game to come out and then get them both off Newegg... (1 gig currently)

Can't wait!

Oh I was wondering about fan speeds with 1 vs 2 GB of ram. Seems from what I've read here have 2 results in slower fan speeds. So in that case I'm so shouting myself to 2 GB (2 cause I have 2 x 512 MB now) for xmas.

Just incase anyone cares, i got 4 gig in my MPB 2.2.
Working with RAW is a million times quicker (Thats not been benckmarked, just an estimate) than having 2 GIG.

Also all OSX runs..... not faster as such, just allot snappier.

And at the price it set me back, a total bargain.

Roll on Leopard and 64bit apps.
