USB Problem

Hello all. I have a MBP and a Westen Digital 250HD I am tryn to connet it via USB but my computer wont reconize it. it does has firwire but i dont have a firewire cable. I know the hard drive worked on my G5 iMac but I am pretty sure the same HD did at one time work on my MBP. I tried connecting a microsoft mouse to the usb port and it did not recognize it. however my usb priner works in all ports. I opened up System Profiler and it doesnt seem to find any devices that i plug in, not even the printer. I opened up Disk Utility and it doesnt find the hard drive.... help please....

My Mac is completely updated with Software Updater.

nevermind nothing usb work. not even the printer. help! please

would resetting the pram help?

Sorry, i need a bump. I ran all of a tech tool Deluxe program and it found nothing wrong with my mbp
