converting .avi (divx/xvid) to mpeg4

Hi

I want to stream media from my mac to my playstation 3, its working just fine for music and photos, but not video. Reason is PS3 dont support .avi.

So im wondering if any of you knows how to convert my video files from divx/xvid to one of the following formats:

• MPEG-1
• MPEG-2 (PS,TS)
• H.264/MEPG-4 AVC
• MPEG-4 SP

Which the PS3 should support.

It would be nice if the program that can do this is free, or at least has a free trial so I can test before i buy.

On the rare occassion when i convert video formats i use mpeg stream clip, but have never tried it with an .avi file.

Any of you had any luck playing the files streamed to ps3 after conversion?

I have tried all of the ones you posted. The one ive had most luck with was ffmpegx. I can see the video but no sound.

The others doesnt work at all.

The divx converter does it as well I believe. Visual hub (or isquint) will do it perfecty.
