I have never owned an ipod...it embarasses me to say that on this forum but it's true. (i have one on the way though)

anyway, a friend of mine, who barely uses hers, wants to add songs to her ipod, but (pc user) the machine was rebuilt since the last sync. So, none of the songs on her ipod now are on the hard drive. Will syncing it up again erase all the data currently on the ipod or simply add to it?

from my experiences (this has happened to me before) sadly enough it will erase the data, unless you are able to disable the sync option on it with another computer.

which i dont think you can, i think that you can only change preferences on it with its "home" computer.
