I live in a dorm, and one of my roommates friends thought it would be funny to password lock my computer. So now my regular admin password is something I dont know, and nobody will unlock it for me. Is there a way to reformat or unlock my computer without the password or by bypassing the password. All of my stuff is backed up so I don't really mind reformating, but if I dont have to do that it would be great :)

thanks!!

how do I boot from the osx dvd?

The instructions should be on the DVD itself. (Something about holding down the 'c' key.)

And from now on, set your own password, and log out when you leave your Mac unattended!

^^ He doesn't really have to log out. To change the password, you need to enter the old password.

For booting from the DVD, like technologist said, hold down C while booting up
