Hi,

I noticed lately that even when I'm not doing anything or just reading a web page, my harddrive seems to be constantly active, as if im copying data or whatever. Im still a bit new to macs so I dont know how to find out whats happening. I tried restarting but it doesnt go away. I checked how much free RAM there was and it was plenty, 900mb out of 2gb.

Anyone? When I restart its gone for some time but it always comes back sooner or later and it slows down everything and its very annoying.

Do you have an active bittorrent going maybe that is downloading?

Open up Activity Monitor - can check there your disk and processes activity to see what is running

In Activity Monitor, change the drop down menu box to Active Processes - maybe take a screenshot of it during a period of time while you're experiencing the problem and post it back - may give us an idea of what's going on.
