How do i make it so my adobe reader is the default program to open PDF files?

Find a PDF on your hard drive, select it, hit command + i (or right-click/cntrl-click the file and select 'Get Info'), select Acrobat under 'Open with:', then hit the change all button (which will be greyed until you select Acrobat).
