Hey guys I have asked about formatting external HDDs from NTFS to FAT32 so i can switch and backup between my WINDOWS machine and my Mac but I have another question..

I managed to format my external HDD to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) but my question is, will i be able to read / wrtie to it on my WINDOWS machine?

Or will I have to make it FAT32 to be able to switch between?

*confused*

thanks!

You'll need to reformat it FAT32 to be able to read/write on both computers. Windows can't read or write HFS(+), and Macs can't write to NTFS.

I have formatted using Disk Utility ( Mac OS Extended Journaled ) I installed iPartition but I cant seem to format to FAT32.

Can I use Disk Utility to format to FAT32?

I have a 80gig external HDD and it has 3 partitions 25gig each.

You can use Disk Utility. Open it up, select the disk, select 'Erase', then under Volume Format, change it to MS-DOS/Windows/FAT32 (I can't remember exactly what is says, but it's one of those!).
