New firmware update (09-27-07) -- Safe?

Mac Pro, 8GB o' RAM, 4.5 TB o' disc space, OS Ecks 10.6.7, etc
Another firmware update is available and again it promises to fix the fans in our Mac Pros. It also is supposed to fix a few boot camp issues (probably the weird clock behavior, etc). Check your Software Update is this is new news to you.

I will let you guys update your machines first and tell me if if makes the fans even louder or what kinds of crazy unexpected broken things happen.

I did this last night on my 24" iMac with no issues.

17 inch 2 GHz C2D imac (5,1) with 3GB DDR2 RAM, X1600 (128MB memory) GPU - OSX 10.6.3
I did it on my imac about 2 hours ago and the only difference post the update for me is my hard drive dan is on average 1-3 rpm faster all the time. Now running at (not under a heave load which in 95% of the time) 1200-1203 rpm.
