problems with internet connection,plz help

like recently all of a sudden i'm getting kicked out..my modem just hands up.....should i blame my isp{using the same isp on my pc with no problems} or what??????
is their any software that will prevent my modem or isp from kicking me out,or should i change isp...any advice will be appreciated.

i got 10.3 panther i got to syst pref--network---modem---?
but dont see anything under idle.....can you plz explain ...thanks

Model user: System Preffs > Network > Modem > PPP tab > PPP Options

Broadband user:
System Preffs > Network > Built-In Ethernet > PPPoE tab > PPPoE Options

Change the settings to suit your need. Also get to know your System preffs just incase you have any other problems.
