A few questions...

Hii..im really considering getting and iphone over an ipod touch..but i just a had few a questions..

-Has anyone faced any major problems with there unlocked iphone?
-if i was to restore it, will it be unlocked? or will it lock?
-how is it when you call and receive calls, does the network work well?
-If i saved sim contacts from my previous phone, and put the sim into the iphone, will they appear in the contacts?

I really like the iphone much more then the touch, but the problem is that the warranty will not work if its unlocked, unlike the touch, which will have a 1 year warranty..but im willing to take this risk..

Just hold on for now cause Apple is going to be putting out an update that will nuke all unlocked phones...

Buying an unlocked iphone is a waste of money, they will blast it

but that only occurs if i update the iphone to the latest firmware..correct?

yeah, but you have to eventually update your iphone... or you may not get signal to AT&T... they will definetly make it so you have to update no matter what

Im not living in the states. im living in Kuwait..and the two mobile phone networks are Zain and Wataniya..both work with iphone..so i will not be using at&ts network..

Heck, try it and let us know. I for one would like to know how it works abroad in "hacked" state. I personally would advise against buying an unlocked one and do it yourself so you know how to fix it. BTW: I'll be leaving mine stock.
