I prefer the white since that's what I chose for my iBook G4. I'll have to go to the Mac Store soon to see if I like the black MacBooks. Here's a picture comparison so you can see:

Seems to me like you pay a premium for the black and only get very slightly better features than the best white one.

Id go white

yo do kno that the white can be speced to the exact same. i have a 2.16ghz and 2 gig of ram. black is the same, no better. and f payin 150 for a color

i've already had a handful of black wintel laptops.

and my white macbook seems to hide smudges and dust better (just like my white car).

Personally, i like the color of the white macbook better but LOVE the finish on the black one. The white is a high gloss finish and you pretty much breath on the outside and it scratches where as the black is a matte finish and seems a lot less prone to scratching.

white is the classic apple look looks nice but if you want my opinion black looks better in the long run you see alot of discolorations appearing on the white ones u will see this in any store where they have demo macbooks that have been no display for a month...where as black holds its matte finish for ever on the inside so pay the extra money and go for it

there are no discolorations on the macbook
when the white MBs first came out there were discolored palmrests but apple started using different material/parts on the palmrest to correct the issue
