BIOS/Mainboard ability to emulate PATA?

Hi,
i`d like to ask if anybody knows whether the iMac mainboard / bios is able to emulate the SATA drive as a PATA (to be able to install WinXP SP1, which cannot be installed on a SATA drive). I have an ordinary PC w/ AMD Athlon64 and the mainboard I use (Asus A8R-MVP) can emulate PATA (i. e. make all SATA-disks appear as PATA), so I have no problems installing WinXP SP1.

While installing Windows on an iMac, all the necessary changes are made. There's no SATA/PATA debate. Only thing is, the bootcamp installer will not start without a Windows XP SP2 disc....
