So I can receive and all, but cannot send. I get this message:This
message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it
can be delivered.

The sender address <EMAIL ADRESS> was rejected by the server. I went
into preferences and selected password authentication and then entered
my gmail username and password. Still no go. any ideas?

Try setting your SMTP (outgoing) server to that of your ISP. Use your credentials from the ISP to send and the credentials for gmail or any other account you want to recieve.

Also note that comcast sends out on port 587 and not 25.

I am having trouble with the smtp server. I keep getting the message that says that the server is not responding. Why could this be happening?
