I don't know if this is true, but my mom went to the Apple store today and was told that Apple would be closed for her next appointment. (Shes trying to learn how to use a mac), and that it would be closed all week. It would be doing renovations and also all of Apple will be closed for something which he was not aloud to speak of.

I am guessing maybe they are teaching the employee's how to use leopard or maybe something else.

I am not 100% sure about this information but it is coming from a family member who claims to be told by a apple employee. Can anyone elaborate on this?

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple's doing some renovations in their stores for 10.5, but a whole week? More likely just the night before.

They do often do actual renovations...literally replacing floor surfaces/carpets, wall coverings, counters and tables. They do this far more often than you might think.

Keeping a retail store looking as shiny as Apple likes is an expensive endeavour.

But just wondering, is this nation wide? Because from what my mother told me, its more of a meeting for them and the renovations just fit in with it.

Ours did it in early August. I haven't been back since. I would imagine they just replaced things, as technologist said.

If ALL the stores are closing, that would be different though. That usually only happens for the new OS release. I have not heard of the Golden Master being seeded yet though, so I am somewhat skeptical.

It seems a bit early. I would assume it will be late October when they release it.

But I am hopeful.
