OS update, buy now or wait?

Quick question from a future switcher.
I have the cash saved for the iMac of my dreams.
Should I buy now or wait for the OS update due out in October?
Any one have any clue when that is expected to roll out?

Depends on your residency, us in the UK only just got the offer on September 12th and it included the new edition iPods, I got £85 off my Touch
