I purchased a brand new MacBook Pro from Apple.com this past July and I love it. Unfortunetly it doesn't seem to be running as fast now as it was when I purchased it. It takes a lot longer to open applications and do simple tasks. Any ideas about what I should do?

Stats:
15" MacBook Pro 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SR, 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM , GeForce 8600M GT 128 MB, LED Display, 5400 rpm 160 GB Hard Drive.

Are there any processes using a lot of CPU or RAM? Check Activity Monitor.

I just looked at my Activity Monitor and found nothing out of the ordinary. Here's what I mean when saying it takes longer for apps to open. Have nothing running and then click on the itunes icon in the dock. It jumps up and down for almost 40 seconds before it opens. This also happens with other apps. The other thing that bothers me is when I hit F12 for my widgets it takes for ever for them to load.

Reinstall. I'm having the same problem as you, and I am now going to take my own advice.
