No this is not a question about the civil war but was wondering - is Mac fairly much compatible with most flat screens? I am running a G4 Quicksilver and want to get rid of this clunkey, takes-up-space CRT.

Monitors are OS independent. It makes little difference what computer you hook it up to, so long as the connectors match.

In days gone by, there was a connector level difference I seem to recall, with many companies doing a brisk business in PC - Mac connector adapters, to allow PC monitors to be used with Macs. These days however, the standard RGB and DVI plugs supported by most monitors work for both Macs and PCs. Just pick the monitor you like and all will be well.
