sharing internet with iMac

I have tried to set up a small wireless network using just my iMac so that my tivo can get online. I have a strong signal but the tivo can't locate the dhcp server. Can anyone help me?

A $40 wireless / wired broadband router will fix this problem and make it to where all future network devices connect to your LAN without a hassle. What you are describing is probably possible but it isn't the recommended method of setting up a local area network.

Ditto the above. The ability to use a Mac's internet sharing function is definitely clever, but it just isn't going to make you or your TiVo happy. Get a router.
