- 2.4 ghz "new" 24" iMac
Hi, My name is Chad and I am a swicther!
Started out with computers in 1983 with my Commodore 64, moved on to the Amiga in 1989 and finally gave into the call of gaming on the PC in earnest in 1994. From then until yesterday when I bought my new 24" iMac it has been a steady stream of windows systems and laptops. I even earn a living as a consultant dealing with mostly Microsoft operating systems and applications.
As fate would have it, one of my clients is a publisher (game hint books woohoo!) and they are starting to move everyone over to Mac's. Adapt or die! What first started out with a groan has ended in a big grin. After a week of working with the new iMacs I knew I was eventually going to have to get one for myself.
I brought home our new 24" iMac last night and was able to get everything up and running in about an hour; file and iTunes sharing between the iMac and our various home PC's, even the application (connect360) I am using to send my media to the XBOX360 from the Mac works better than Microsoft's own media connect, I love it!
I am having some technical problems, the system keeps locking up on me (it even locked up 3 times on the phone with Apple Care) but hopefully my appointment at the local Apple Store will resolve things tomorrow.
Anyway, I may be a decent resource for Mac to PC connectivity. I have been able to connect to active directory domains and windows workgroups with these things and for the most part they interoperate great!
