What do you think?

Airbrushed:

After looking back at it, the neck looks a bit odd.

Anyway, I don't mind if you're harsh. :)

Let me preface this by saying... I have NO idea how to "airbrush"... so I'm no expert.

But the second pic looks like rubber... I think you may have done too much to it. just my opinion though.

Cute subject though. :D

i wouldn't say it looks bad, it just doens't look real, kinda like a vector image, cartoon thing.

you don't have to the entire face, just the bad parts.. good start though for your first attempt.

EDIT: what software are you using, because some programs are harder to work with for this then others and we can possibly point you in another direction.

PS CS3 Extended

I don't know where you picked up your technique, but give this one a look

Just a warning, some of the pictures are not work safe, so view at your own risk

The outer edge shadows are a little too harsh and the inner shadings on the face and cheeks are too blurred. It almost looks as if it were painted and not a photo.
For a photo like that, you might use the Healing Brush tool to remove the blemishes and then adjust the Curves and Contrast to remove the shine on the face.

Here's a quick idea of what I mean... I would spend a little more time on it but you can get the gist of it.

(I don't have any time now so all I did was lower the opacity of one of the layers)

Nope. Looks more natural. Even when using the technique from POTN, you want to keep it looking some what natural, unless you're intending on ending up with the plastic barbie doll look.

If you look at your first try, you'll see you removed the line by her nose and on her chin.

As one of the people posted in that thread, those lines are integral to giving the face shape and structure, removing them takes away from what makes a person's face a person's face.

Not all lines are age marks, some are like thumb prints, they're what makes an individual just that. Trying to preserve them with the airbrush technique is what will get you a good photo chop.

My take on it . By no means an expert (yes , I know!! it shows  ) .

Just adjusted levels , used the healing brush to get rid of the blemishes ,bit of gausian blur ,reduced the opacity to get what looks like a natural look ,USM on the eyes .

Thanks. :D

EDIT: Won't have enough time tonight, and can't find any decent pictures to try on anyway.
