ipod touch alarm

So I set my alarm on the ipod touch yesterday morning, and noticed that the alarm only sounds through the earphones but not through the speaker of the ipod touch. Is there a way that I could set it so the alarm would sound over the speaker? (By speaker I mean it would alarm like it would beep internally) Thanks.

There is no built in speaker on the ipod touch, it will only work with the headphones..

I restored the ipod to the manufacturer's settings in iTunes and now the alarm is able to sound with the speaker.

But there is no speaker on the touch...
