How do I do this on a Mac? I am trying to send out several emails to different people that they can click anywhere on the image and go to a website. The image in the email is not located on the website.

I have posted this before, but didn't get any responses and I am DESPARATELY trying to figure this out.

Can anyone help me please???

Thanks!

I'm not sure if I'm getting you right, but.. Well, I would give the source of the <img src="http://www.whatever.com/you.jpg"> and point the link along with the http://...

Thanks for your response, however, I can't seem to do that in an email. I might not have explained it properly.

What I want to do is send an email to people with an image included that anywhere on that image they can click it and go to a designated website.

Right now when I attach an image into an email, I go to the "Edit>add hyperlink" but that turns the image into the actual url underlined and all in blue. The image is gone.

Plus I can't find anywhere where I can add HTML to the photo in the email.

I am using Apple Mail on a Macbook Intel 10.4.10.

I hope this explained it better.

Thanks again though for your thoughts.

Well here's what you do.

Open an html editor or text editor (make sure you put textedit into plain text mode in sys prefs)

Then write your html something like this: <a href="http://www.com"><img src="http://www.baba.com/popat.jpg" /></a>

Then save that as an html file.

Then open it with safari.

Then go to file > Mail contents of this page and it will open a new compose window with that picture + hyperlink.

Hope that helps.

Well I got everything to work except when I put the link into the email, it showed up as the link not the picture. By the way, the picture is not one that is on the website if that makes any difference.

I used Taco editor to try this and I also tried NVU where I made my website pages.

For example, I want a picture of a dog in an email that when they see the picture they click on it and it will go to www.dixiekennels.com.

Thanks again for your help. Sorry I am not real literate in HTML.

Hmm.. I'm not sure how you are going to link the image locally, cause I dont know where mail stores its messages. Can't you just upload your image to a free image host like imageshack?

I can store the images on my webserver that isn't the problem. I just can't get the picture to show up in the email with the link embedded in it. No matter what I try, the blue link shows up and not the image with the cursor turning into a clickable hand.

I know it can be done on a PC, but, who wants to fool with that! :)

Thanks for your responses though I really appreciate it.

Have a good one.

Did you follow those steps I mentioned exactly? I mean, if you just replace the links, it should show the image. Don't do this through mail, cause yes, it replaces the image with a link.

That other method works perfectly for me...

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the patience and the help. I have been trying to do this for 2 weeks.
